The Keyboard

Does anyone else have the rule-
No throwing/kicking balls in the house? It's a common rule-- easy to understand why.--
Anyone have the rule-
No food or drink at the computer- again.. a common but understandable rule.
Well The story goes... I was on line looking at black friday ads, with a nice cup of coffee. mmmmmmmm coffee. & Trent was lightly kicking a foam football into the couch. Not too harmless until--- his foot side swiped the football sending it my direction. Scared me to death, it made a terrible crashing sound when it hit my cup of coffee & it clanked on the keyboard & sent coffee running into the spaces between the keys. So instead of taking advantage of shoping a few Thanksgiving sales, or having time to make my hair look nice for dinner... Trent & I spent about an hour and a half cleaning up the keyboard. We had to take it apart & dry the inside & get all the sticky coffee out-- I take mine with sugar & cream, so yea, it was sticky.
After the cleanup & putting the keyboard back together, I didn't want to use it quite yet for on line shopping, looking at ads. & my hair, unfortunately I wore it on a pony tail for dinner. Not what I had in mind, but my keyboard still works-- I am THANKFUL for that!

Thanksgiving humor

One year at Thanksgiving, my mom went to my sister's house for the traditional feast. Knowing how gullible my sister is, my mom decided to play a trick. She told my sister that she needed something from the store. When my sister left, my mom took the turkey out of the oven, removed the stuffing, stuffed a Cornish hen, and inserted it into the turkey, and re-stuffed the turkey. She then placed the bird(s) back in the oven. When it was time for dinner, my sister pulled the turkey out of the oven and proceeded to remove the stuffing. When her serving spoon hit something, she reached in and pulled out the little bird. With a look of total shock on her face, my mother exclaimed, "Patricia, you've cooked a pregnant bird!" At the reality of this horrifying news, my sister started to cry. It took the family two hours to convince her that turkeys lay eggs! Yep.................SHE'S BLONDE!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY Y'ALL!!!!

Thanksgiving humor

The Parrot

A young man named John received a parrot as a gift. The parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary.
Every word out of the bird's mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity.
John tried and tried to change the bird's attitude by consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music and anything else he could think of to "clean up" the bird's vocabulary. Finally, John was fed up and he yelled at the parrot. The parrot yelled back.
John shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and even ruder.
John, in desperation, threw up his hand, grabbed the bird and put him in the freezer.
For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed.
Then suddenly there was total quiet.
Not a peep was heard for over a minute.
Fearing that he'd hurt the parrot, John quickly opened the door to the freezer, the parrot calmly stepped out onto John's outstretched arms and said, "I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions. I'm sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions and I fully intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior." John was stunned at the change in the bird's attitude. As he was about to ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic change in his behavior, the bird continued,
"May I ask what the turkey did?"
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Toss'n'cookies

Stockton has been throwing up here and there. Usually right when he wakes up, be if from a nap or whatever. Last night Nic & I woke up & heard him crying, about 1:00 AM. Usually Stockton finds his way into our room & sleeps with us. His room is a land mine, he's got dinosaurs all over his floor, pirates & cars. You can imagine stepping on any of those in the dark while being 1/2 asleep. So I figured he hit a land mine on his way into our room. So Nic & I both waited for him to come in-- well he didn't. I went in to see why he was crying & the smell hit me at his door. Acidic vomit. He was still laying down- he hasn't mastered how to properly throw up. So lately when he has been throwing up, if he is laying down, he will swallow & re-throw up. So I got into his room, had him sit up, I called for Nic to come & help me. I tried pulling off his shirt with out getting any on him, & was having a heck of a time. Stockton was crying & started yelling "I'm having a little trouble in here" Silly what kids say in that sleepy state. But it really cracked us up- at 1 in the morning.

Recipe of the week...

I have decided that I will now add my recipe of the week as a "post". That way if you want to look up past recipes, it will be possible.
So, Once I post a new Recipe of the week, the old one will become a post.

Taco Recipe of the week

Taco night at my house-

I use Kroger/Smiths brand taco seasoning.
I used to be a schilling/McCormic fan-- until I tried Kroger.
~A good seasoning addition would be Mole sauce, just a forkful~
I like to have either black beans or refried beans
Spanish rice-of your choosing
Corn
Guacamole (I prefer mine homemade)
Tomatos or salsa
Sour cream
Every one makes theirs different. I usually tear up my tortilla and make it into a salad.

Stockton

Stockton had a few bad teeth. So Nic & I decided we would go ahead and do sedated dental work. He did good, the Dentist said most kids wake up 1/2 way through & they have to give more medicine. Stockton didn't wake up for about 2 hours after he was done. The rest of the day he was dizzy and didn't feel well. He was on the couch, didn't eat until dinner. Threw up a few times, but it was only water. We took him to a pediatric dentist, Cassidy & Trent went to our family dentist down the hall. When Stockton woke up I took him in to where the other kids were. We were watching Cassidy in the chair and Stockton threw up. Just missing Cassidy's face. I felt bad & offered to clean it up, but the dental assistant said she would have to do it, policy reasons. Bummer..

You may notice, Stockton now has a gap in his front teeth. They were very close together & the dentist was worried if we couldn't floss them, they would get cavities, so he made a little space for us to floss.
You can compare his teeth
Stockton woke up this morning feeling fine. He said his cheeks felt puffy. He still has a purple gum, where they had to put a crown on his tooth.

My advice so parents with small kids who always brush.

DON'T FORGET TO FLOSS.

The majority of my kid's cavities, have been inbetween their teeth.

Cookies!!!

Ahhhhhh, the cookies are all done-- & all gone. I took them to the school for Cassidy's Veterans day program.

Stockton was getting pretty sick & tired of waiting for the program to get over, so he could get a juice & a cookie.

All the first graders sang the "theme" songs for all armed forces.

After the program, all the kids went &
shook the hands of all the veterans.

Ears

Okay, as promissed, here are som pictures of Cassidy....

Cassidy

CASSIDY GOT HER EARS PIERCED! I'll post pictures soon-- Since I am baking the next 2 days-- not only 7 doz. cookies, but now a cake order as well (that feeds 75) I'll be busy.
We have gone in a few times before & every time Cassidy gets nervous & calls it off. This time I told her, if she changed her mind, we would wait until she was 7 before trying again. So she picked out her earrings & we had to wait for one of the workers to get back from lunch, so we could do both ears at the same time. Mean while, we spotted her dance teacher, who gave her cheers & support to do it. Then when the time came, we had an audience, people standing in the store & at the window. I could tell she was nervous, but with this many people watching, I also knew she wouldn't change her mind. Then it happened. The look on her face... If she wasn't surrounded by people who were watching her, she would have cried. But thanks to the audience, she didn't. and is now very happy she went through with it.

Holiday Movie's

Hi,
I was wondering if any of you could recommend any holiday movies. I usually watch the stand around Halloween, but haven't gotten to it yet. I always like to watch the Charlie Brown holiday specials. & The number 1 movie I love to watch around Thanksgiving is "Traines, Planes, & Automobiles". There are plenty of Christmas movies, so I not asking for those. I would love to watch Sound of Music, or Wizard of Oz, but I can't get my man to watch those with me. Anyone have suggestions....

Why I love Sundays

Why I love Sundays, & why I don't lose weight......
Sunday morning-- I love cooking, & what better than an Omlett with peppers, onions, ham, and cheese. Along with some toast & some hashbrowns-made fresh. (My salad shooter helps out there.) Some Sundays I'll do french toast...

Then usually a small light lunch.

Followed by a large home made dinner!
If could bake all day on Sundays, I'd be in heaven.

Todays Menu....
Cheese vegetable soup, I like to add chicken to mine.

Some made from scratch bread-mmmmmm my house smells good.

Then I made a quick batch of brownies with frosting-- yes, I used the box mix.
